Mission Fields
WHY WE SERVESharing the message of hope in Jesus Christ to a broken and dying world is a Gospel imperative, best evidenced through our love in action. Our ministry and mission work that we do locally (Katy Christian Ministries, Lord of the Streets, Krause Center, World Vision, etc) is being expanded beyond our geographic locale.
In 2007 Pastor Bill, Doug and Karen Eisele, and other leaders in the church came together in prayer to seek God’s guidance for expanding Adult Mission at COTHA. Darrel has since brought his vision, leadership and passion for the lost and hurting. In 2008, we are focused on four areas of mission and outreach. First, several groups went on short term (3-day weekend) mission trips to Mexico to bring clothing, food and medical supplies. Second, we served New Orleans with reconstruction efforts. Next, we sent a small team to Uganda for 9 days to explore opportunities to serve in Africa. After our visit, we purchased land to build a new church in 2009. Finally, we assisted in the cleanup efforts in Galveston after Hurricane Ike. In 2009, we will plan to minister in the following locations. Debbie Blank will coordinate several short term rips back to Mexico. With our Ugandan partners we will open the church and evangelize to local residents. Our efforts in Galveston are now switching to rebuilding.
WHAT CAN I DO?As Darrel says, God is more interested in your AVAILABILITY than your ability. Regardless of the unique skills you possess, or those you don’t possess, mission and outreach is for YOU! The first step is to say “YES!”. The rest is just details. If you cannot join one of the ministry teams, please consider signing up to pray for the missioners and the missions. Please give this careful consideration, and let Doug or Karen Eisele know of your interest at 281-392-3897 or email them at eiseled1@bp.com |
