Weddings

"The union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God's will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Therefore, marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly, or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God." (Book of Common Prayer, page 423)

 

Weddings are exciting and wonderful events. In them, God does something miraculous; he joins two people so that the two become one. For the rest of their lives, married people explore the depths of this great and mysterious occurrence. The discoveries and joys of marriage are never ending.

 

At Church of the Holy Apostles, we hold a high view of marriage. Accordingly, we make every effort to ensure that those being married do so "deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God." It is our goal to help every couple prepare sufficiently so that the wedding ceremony will not only go well but will be the beginning of a lifelong union of support and love.
